Kerala, the God’s own country - the beautiful coastal state in South India is traditionally known as the Spices Garden of Asia. The history of world would have been different had spices particularly pepper not been abundant in the Malabar coast (North Kerala). The search for pepper prompted many European Voyages, Arab Caravans and Chinese travellers towards the Malabar Coast.

Nestled in the lap of the mountains of the Western Ghats, lies Wayanad - one of the loveliest hill stations of Kerala! Wayanad is the Angel’s Paradise, located on a mid plateau with an elevation ranging from 850 meters to 1200 meters and broken by undulating hills. Wayanad is one of the richest agro - biodiversity hot spots in the world and this evergreen forest is blessed with large variety flowering plants, Orchids, Anthuriums, Medicinal plants, Coffee, Tea etc.

Thanks to its cash crops like pepper, cardamom, coffee, tea, spices and other condiments, Wayanad is perhaps one of the biggest foreign exchange earners of the state. The economy of Wayanad depends mainly on Coffee, Tea and Spices. Pepper is mainly grown on trees that are groomed to give shade to the coffee shrubs.
